Lost week

Nothing like a bit of minor surgery amidst the Christmas season to force yourself to take it easy.  The after effects of a general, coupled with a heady mix of post-op meds has meant there's nothing for it but to take it easy.  Well, as easy as you can when you've two children to care for that is.  Just the bare minimum of school runs, meals and keeping the vegetable garden watered, with plenty of couch time in between.  Washing, weeds and dishes accumulate along with dust bunnies along the hallway and lego takes over the entire house while I concentrate on what matters most.  Family.

After a lost week I'm finally feeling more like myself and now it's time to hit the ground running.  School breaks up today so this morning, amongst the usual flurry of lunches, lost shoes and missing school hats, were teachers' presents to wrap and a (vegan!) birthday cake to bring to school for a certain girl.  Who is eight. Tomorrow. Oh my.

There is much present wrapping, excitement and celebrations around these parts.  All surrounded by green and tinsel and joy.  Special times.

  6. I was ill for about a week there and it really helped me to slow down during that time (not like I had a choice!) But I was able to leisurely get the house decorated and took a little time to get into the Christmas spirit. May you and your family have a very Merry Christmas. :)
